They're making a list, checking it twice...

All you BGNDers know that I love the "Best Of" lists that come out every year. Some are good, some are bad, some are informative, some are redundant. Whichever category the "best of" list falls into, I still rush out to get each magazine and tear through the new list with fury. Often times I will find a winner for my skincare or make-up routine- other times I am astounded at how strong products remain year after year.

Well, Allure has their "Readers' Choice" list out at the moment and it does not disappoint. I highly recommend you pick up this month's issue and check it out. Or of course, check out the full list online here.

Either way, some good BGND stand-bys made the list like 7-Day Scrub Cream, Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and All About Eyes - all from Clinique, as well as Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lover's Fragrance, Essie Nail Polish in Mademoiselle and L'Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Make-up.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It is that time of year ladies and gents! In Style Magazine has released it's yearly Best Beauty Buys!

This list year after year is chock full of fabulous familiars and awesome new finds. This is the 14th year they have been doing this (wow!!) and once again the list does not disappoint. It has many a BGND approved item (MAC Eye Kohl, Smashbox Photo Finish, Essie Mademoiselle, Ped Egg, Cetaphil, Clinique Exfoliating Scrub - just to name a few!) as well as some new things I will be rushing to check out (Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil - how did I not know about this?!).

BGND's 1st Annual "Best Of" List!

Hello to all my readers!

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that on Monday BGND will post the very first "Best Of" list. The only scientific research will be from my own experiences and those of you- my faithful BGND readers.

So before the list is posted on Monday and is official...write me and let me know what you think should be on the list. What are the items that have changed your life in 2008? What do you use everyday?

The list will be just like any other "Best of" list and will include the best in skincare and make-up (although no hair care...it is not my forte.) I look forward to hearing from you and what your thoughts are on the 1st Annual BGND Best of List!

Another Monday, Another Best of...

Happy Monday!

Don't know if you already saw this as the news was released over the weekend, but Sephora has released their list of the Best of products available at their stores!!! This is one of my favorite 'best of" lists as it gives us Sephora shoppers a guide to the overwhelming amount of products available at their shelves. Plus, these "best of" winners were chosen by people just like you and me so they are proven winners, not just the products beauty editors want you to buy.

There are six categories represented; Complexion, Makeup, Skincare, Hair, Fragrance and Beauty Wows. Some of BGND's faves are on the list of course...Smashbox Primer, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, Tarte Lip Stain and Nars Lipgloss among others.

Best of Beauty 2008

So as we all know, every year all the mags put out their lists of "Best Beauty Buys". These lists are helpful but can be long and expansive and sometimes do very little to help someone struggling to find just a few solid items to add to their skin care rep. I have collected the links for these lists here, but I have consolidated down the many different versions to what I consider to be the best of the "Best".
